We are a modern family with old school values. The four of us live on a clever plot of land in the Old Southwest neighborhood in Reno, Nevada.  Our home is a 1939 brick tudor with some wonderful trees, but was grossly dilapidated and untended when we first moved in.

This is our journey of becoming more self-sufficient as we renovate our house, and turn our yard into a permacultured oasis to be a source of food for us and our animals. We have backyard chickens and support local efforts towards self-sufficiency within our community.

Follow us as we tell the tale of our adventures in urban farming, raising chickens, house renovations, DIY crafting, arduino hacking and technology.  We are a modern family with old school values.
